  1. I was a highly motivated first time attendee at the caucuses, and wasn't sure how much one person could do, without motivating a large group of friends to vote for me. I was able to get to know quite a few of my not-so-near neighbors, and the group elected me as a County Delegate! I am excited to serve and help improve the state of our state from the ground level!

  2. Standing room only in our little precinct, which was unusual. I didn't anticipate the strong emotions surrounding some of the races, such as the sheriff's race. I was elected a county delegate along with 3 sheriff's deputies. I am hoping they will be receptive to educational issues as well. I took my 20 year-old to her first caucus meeting. What an eye-opening experience for her. (A great year to see what's happening.)

  3. I enjoyed going to my neighborhood caucus where only 7 people came. Unfortunately, I will be out of town on April 10, so I wasn't able to be nominated as a county delegate--hopefully next time. There was another teacher in attendance adn we both expressed our concerns regarding public education. Prior to the meeting, I had contacted the Republican candidate running in my county for a position in the House of Representatives and discussed with him his views on public education and was pleased to hear of his full support. Now he will have mine!
